Located in Japan’s Kansai region, Osaka is a dynamic city celebrated for its vibrant culture, rich history, and modern innovation. Known as the "Kitchen of Japan," Osaka is a culinary capital offering everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to beloved street food like takoyaki and okonomiyaki.
The city seamlessly blends tradition and progress, from the grandeur of Osaka Castle and the spiritual serenity of Shitenno-ji Temple, to the dazzling nightlife of Dotonbori and the futuristic architecture of Umeda Sky Building. As a commercial hub, Osaka is also home to major business districts and a strong academic and research presence.
Osaka boasts a well-developed public transportation system, including the Osaka Metro, JR West lines, and extensive bus services, ensuring easy access to its many neighborhoods and surrounding cities such as Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe.
Getting to Osaka by Air:
Osaka is served by two main airports: Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka Itami Airport (ITM).
  • KIX, located about 50 km from the city center, is the primary international gateway, offering flights to and from major cities across Asia, Europe, and North America.
  • Itami Airport, closer to central Osaka, mainly handles domestic flights and is popular for its quick access and efficiency.
Both airports are connected to the city via express trains, buses, and taxis, providing smooth and convenient transportation for international and domestic travelers alike.
